Visiting the ‘Montagna Spaccata and the Rupi di San Mauro’ in the Sannicola area, locality Lido Conchiglie will give you the opportunity to enjoy beautiful landscapes.

The itinerary will start with a visit to the stunning “Abbazia San Mauro” (Abbey), located high up right in front of the Ionian Sea, reason why we are going to enjoy it at sunset. But it is also famous because it is the guardian of certain secrets…

You will discover the remains of the ancient Cenobio. Marked by time, it’s a symbol of history, myths and culture of times gone by.

Next, we will discover an ancient path, recently found, where the ancient Rupi, Pajare, Gariga and Steppa are kept.

The last stop will be a pine forest perched on the promontory, before returning to the Abbey and enjoying the famous sunset over the sea of Gallipoli, an enchanting sight to be immortalised in a souvenir photo..
